Escape Guide // Miami, FL

In the immortal words of Willard Carroll Smith Jr., “On the sneak, Miami bringin' heat for real” and if there's one lesson we've learned in this life, it's never argue with the Fresh Prince. Bienvenidos.

Put 'Em Back

Ball & Chain

1513 SW 8th St.

Miami, FL 33135

With history dating back to 1935, Ball & Chain is the anchor of Little Havana’s Calle Ocho. Check the calendar, hit it when there’s live music on the Pineapple Stage (yes they have a massive stage that looks like a Pineapple). If you can’t keep up on the dancefloor, loosen up with a house special Calle Ocho Old Fashioned. Tobacco Bitters... ¡Bomba!

Wynwood Brewery

565 NW 24th St.

Miami, FL 33127

Board games and suds made literally 10 feet away? Yea we can get behind that. Nestled in the Wynwood Arts District, this family owned spot is churning out award winning beers that's turning heads nationwide. Everything they make is legit, so take your pick…our favorite was Pops Porter.

Good Eats

La Sandwicherie

229 14th St.
Miami Beach, FL 33139

A couple blocks from the beach, the counter service sandwich spot is a Miami favorite for good reason. If you need a nudge, we’re picking the Sobe Club, but frankly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Get your sandie on the baguette though…more excess to dip into their vinaigrette.

Joe's Stone Crab

11 Washington Ave

Miami Beach, FL 33139

An establishment since before Miami was city, Joe’s Stone Crab has been providing locals and tourists alike with the freshest seafood available. This family run joint was the first in the area to discover the delectable stone crab nearly 100 years ago. Go to Miami, go to Joe’s Stone Crab, eat some seafood. It’s a no brainer.

Versailles

3555 SW 8th St.

Miami, FL 33135

Once Versailles opened its doors in the disco era, it quickly became the cultural center for many Cuban immigrants in South Florida and forty years later, it still is. This famous Miami landmark spins out Cuban food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Oh, it’s also the home of the Cuban sandwich. Versailles is open late too, well past 2 AM on the weekends.

Wynwood Diner

2601 NW 2nd Ave

Miami, FL 33127

Wynwood is to Miami what Williamsburg is to Brooklyn. The menu boats classic diner dishes while offering modern meals too. In how many diners can you get eggs any style with toast or a plate of brioche french toast with almonds and a bourbon creme anglaise? This is the place to go if you find yourself with a group of people who can’t decide on what to eat.

Get Your Fix

Panther Coffee

2390 NW 2nd Ave

Miami, FL 33127

With three location around Miami, Panther Coffee is one of Miami’s proudest and most local small-batch coffee roaster and retailers. Trust us on this one, one of these cups of coffee will not disappoint- it’ll be just what you need to keep your eyes open. Their roasts can take you on a tour of flavours from the East coast of the US , through El Salvador, all the way down to Brazil.

Good Times

Miami Beach

Miami Beach, Florida feels like how Will Smith’s “Summer Time” sounds. If you want to get your toes in some sand or check out the waves and babes, head on over to South Beach or the Miami Beach boardwalk. If you forgot your sunscreen at home, cruise down to Lincoln Road. It’s a great place to spend some cash. Lincoln Road is lined with cool shops and great little joints to eat.

Wynwood Walls

2516 NW 2nd Ave

Miami, FL 33127

So in 2009, this guy Tony Goldman decided to make a large street art installment in Wynwood to bring some life to the neighborhood. It’s definitely one of the cooler things to view in Miami. Take half a day to walk around and see some of the artwork which has grown so much since the beginning. Artists from all over the world have their works displayed in this giant outdoor graffiti museum, to put it crassly. Get out there and culture yourself.

Fill Your Bag

Wynwood Letters

2621 NW 2nd Ave #21

Miami, FL 33127

Wynwood Letterpress has an eclectic selection but one theme runs throughout: thoughtful artistry. Here you can find well designed and decorated home goods, gifts, accessories, and office supplies. This place will help you stand out and make it seem as if you actually had your life together.

Hang Your Hat

Freehand Miami

2727 Indian Creek Dr.
Miami Beach, FL 33140

Hotel and hostel, cheap too. Decorated how you would want your own home decorated. One of the better places to steal little shampoos from in Miami.
